'While so many are working to revive Magic Sam, I’ve looked to the other outstanding templates from the period, and present for your enjoyment the Modern Mal, classic elements in a forward-looking package. An Aussie influenced outline, with the wide point behind center, creates a log that turns quickly in dicey situations. In addition, the straighter nose outline, coupled with an austere roll from nose to tail, rockets the Modern Mal forward when cross-stepping to the nose. The Modern Mal goes amazing in quick breaking beach breaks, but doesn’t shy away from reef or point surf'

Outline is nicely hipped with pulled in nose, square tail and clean foil with finely pinched rails for an engaged hull-like feel. Bottom has a mellow roll/moderate belly that extends from the nose to rolled vee at the tail. Rocker is minimal featuring a subtle curve throughout for both arcing and whippy turns. Super manueverable and built to take off, turn and trim.

Limited edition build with ISO/volan lamination by Adam Davenport and triple redwood stringer with almost no pressures. Might be a cosmetic scuff here or there but no binks, bonks, dings, doinks, pookas or snackles otherwise.
