Surfs surprisingly well for a shortboard from this era. Top turns, pivots, finds the pocket and cuts back, similar to a modern tri. But like a twin, it loves the pocket.

The glass-on fin reads original, and despite the obvious repairs, it’s all-the-way-back fin-placement, coupled with extreme vee (like an Owl or Maurice Cole) makes speedy high lines on fast waves (like Off-the-Wall) feel spectacular. 🤩 ✨

I ride this board specifically for barrels, and to get in early when everyone else is scratching at late drops. Great for double ups, but also cruising.

I love its rails, fin, and paddle power. I ride it as designed, with no leash. So this board would be core for Sunset Cliffs, or anywhere else where leashes are sometimes still frowned upon.
