HAYDENSHAPES HOLY GRAIL FUTUREFLEX - 6'4"
6'4" x 21 1/8" x 3"
Approx. 40 L
FutureFlex EPS / Epoxy construction
5-fin setup, ride it thruster or quad
Condition: Like new. No dings. Watertight.
This is the Holy Grail, designed by Hayden Cox. It's basically the more performance-oriented brother of the famous Hypto Krypto, designed to still paddle well and catch waves easily while allowing much tighter, more critical surfing in the pocket. Haydenshapes describes it as an everyday performance board that works from average surf through clean, more powerful conditions.
Haydenshapes
The big feature is FutureFlex construction.
FutureFlex was designed and patented by Hayden Cox. Instead of a traditional wooden center stringer, it uses a stringerless high-density EPS core, biaxial fiberglass, epoxy resin and a parabolic carbon-fiber frame running around the rails. The carbon frame stores and releases energy through turns, giving it the light weight and durability of an epoxy board while maintaining a lively, natural flex instead of feeling stiff.
Haydenshapes
In simple terms: very light, extremely tough, responsive and built to flex rather than feel like a rigid epoxy board.
EPS/epoxy construction is also much more resistant to the kind of catastrophic foam deterioration associated with traditional waterlogged boards. Obviously any surfboard should still be repaired if the skin is punctured, but this construction is seriously durable.
The large front deck pad can easily be peeled off if you prefer traditional wax.
Current new price: $849 from Haydenshapes. Earlier retail was roughly $775-$795.
